UPDATE: 08/19/11: The ESS Doctors without Borders page is now closed.This past year Eric’s fans raised $24,278.00. (121% of the goal) It needs to be said again…ESS fans are truly awesome!

(Addendum: Due to overwhelming response, goal had been increased to $20,000. The original target of $15,000 was achieved in just 19 days on September 7, 2010. On the day Reid Oliver drew his last breath, an incredible fan base found motivation to turn on screen tragedy into off screen triumph. Kudos!!).
With the enthusiastic response from the fan base and Eric’s blessing, we have launched the fundraising campaign in honor of Eric and his incredible talent. Thanks to Pup and her vision, we now have a positive outlet to express our gratitude.
Eric has captivated fans with his portrayal of Dr. Reid Oliver on As the World Turns for the past nine months. As the show comes to a conclusion, many are saddened not only by its end but by the way Reid’s story will wrap. Rather than dwell on the negative, we would like to encourage folks to focus on the positive. As Reid has been a hero to many, we can follow suit and be heroes as well while honoring Eric and his incredible talent.
Many have asked how they can send gifts to Eric to show their appreciation of his talent. Eric has expressed that while he is grateful for the thought; his preference is that folks send him their good thoughts. This is a way to satisfy both while supporting a cause that is of vital importance on a global level. How appropriate given the fact that Eric’s fans are all over the world and this is a charity close to his heart.
